Archive for June, 2013

Well mother nature would have let us operate at the park, but the announcement had already been given that we’d operate from the Club Room.

Running for just under four hours, including grabbing lunch the nine licensed hams attending missed the 100 QSO target, but nonetheless had a great time.

We had visitors from our fellow Manitowoc ARES/RACES Group and worked their W9RES station as well.

Operations were 40m and 20m using the clubs TS-570D and TS-440.

Great time had by all for our Mini Field Day.

Forecast is looking iffy for Saturday with forecasts ranging from 40% to 80% chance of Thunderstorms.

Looking rather likely that we will operate from the Club Room.  Final decision will be made Saturday Morning, and you can check on the 146.610 pl 107 repeater, or just check the park & club room.

We will get an update Saturday morning onto this blog if we can.

Hope to see you at Field Day!

Field Day is always the fourth full weekend of June, beginning at 1800 UTC Saturday and running through 2059 UTC Sunday. Field Day 2013 will be held June 22-23, 2013.

Mancorad will be setting up in Manitowoc Lincoln Park between the Tennis Courts, setup starting at 11 AM local on Saturday June 22nd.

We will have a pot-luck and meeting at Noon, with operations of the W9DK station starting at 1 PM.  We will wrap up when everyone has had the operating time they want.

We do not have overnight permission, and usually the bigs eat everyone at dusk, so we will knock down the station by 6-7 PM

IF THE WEATHER IS BAD, WE WILL OPERATE FROM THE CLUB ROOM.

Loading up will be at the Club Room at 9 AM.

See you there!
